Dr Gilliland was an invited speaker and expert participant at the consensus conference Physical Activity in Rural, Remote, and Northern Communities held in Toronto, Ontario on November 16th, 2015. The objective of the conference organized by Power UP! CLASP was to gain expert consensus on the priorities for and evidence needed to support the implementation and success of population-level and/or environmental initiatives (e.g., built environment intervention, healthy public policy, etc.) targeting physical activity in rural, remote, and northern communities. Participants included researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners from across Canada with expertise or experience on this issue.
