Thursday, September 26, 2013

The report was developed by the Healthy Communities Partnership Middlesex-London and written by the Human Environments Analysis Laboratory at Western University in collaboration with the Middlesex-London Health Unit.

The purpose of the paper is to increase knowledge of the relationship between health and the built environment in rural contexts, while providing a local application to Middlesex County. A description of Middlesex County and its municipalities is included to display the generalizability of the policies and supplemental strategies recommended throughout the paper.

Four topic areas are discussed throughout the paper: 1) active living; 2) road safety; 3) food systems & healthy eating; and 4) social capital & mental well-being.
