Lafreniere presents a vision for a Canadian Historical GIS Network

Don Lafreniere, Research Associate in the Human Environments Analysis Laboratory spoke in a special joint session of the Canadian Association of Geographers and the Canadian Cartographic Association about the recent creation of the Canadian Historical GIS Network.  Among the networks aims are to build a community of HGIS scholars, librarians, archivists, and community partners in heritage and genealogy to guide the creation, dissemination, and preservation of historical spatial data in Canada.
