Professor Jason Gilliland gave an invited Plenary Address to the Association of Public Health Epidemiologists in Ontario 2015 conference today in London, Ontario. The theme of the conference was “Effective communication of epidemiological information” and the title of Dr Gilliland’s plenary talk was “Mapping for Public Health: Effective Use of Spatial Analysis to Communicate Health Information”. Two grad students affiliated with the HEALab, Krista Cook and Ashna Jinah (both MSc students in Epidemiology & Biostatistics at Western), also gave poster presentations on their thesis work at the conference. The Association of Public Health Epidemiologists in Ontario is an organization of approximately 100 full members who practice epidemiology in Ontario's public health units, as well as more than 200 affiliate members. APHEO’s mission is to advance and promote the discipline and professional practice of epidemiology in Ontario public health units.
