Katherine Wilson (MA) is applying her HEAL training as the Active Transportation Coordinator for Essex County, where she is currently coordinating the County-Wide Active Transportation Plan (CWATS). This plan involves partnerships with the Essex Region Conservation Authority, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and the Ministry of Transportation with the common goal of linking seven local municipalities with a network that covers 800 kilometres.

Katherine’s thesis research, “Understanding Parent and Child Perceptions of Barriers and Enablers Influencing Active School Travel” sparked her initial interest in public health, health promotion, and physical activity and helped to prepare her for this current position. Way to go Katherine, we are so proud of you back at the HEAL!
