HEAL Graduate Student Profile: Alexander (AJ) Wray

Alexander (AJ) Wray from Western University shares his experience, research, and role as a current HEAL graduate student. AJ is in his second year of the Master of Arts program in Geography, supervised by Dr. Jason Gilliland in the HEAL. His studies focus on how outdoor advertising influences teenagers’ visits to retail food outlets in London, Ontario. AJ also supports the SmartAPPetite project, which promotes smarter, healthier eating, and strengthens local food systems by using a smartphone application to expand teenager’s food literacy and local food knowledge. With the HEAL’s specialization in the practice of community health research and applications of geographic information science, AJ is uniquely positioned to adopt roles in geographic information systems, project management, and community relations.
