HEALYAC 2025-2026: End of Year Summary

We had another very productive year at HEALYAC. Although our last official meeting took place in May, we remained busy finalizing several additional activities.
During the 2025–2026 school year, our members took on many important roles, including:
• Podcasters
• Grant writers
• Media contributors with CBC
• Online conference hosts
• Researchers (designing, coding, and presenting)
This year, we produced a three-part podcast series on Youth and Mental Health. HEALYAC also contributed to and co-wrote local grant applications. Our group was featured on CBC London Morning Show and CBC Kids Canada.
In addition, we hosted an online Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Summit with youth from different cities across Canada. The summit was part of a research project in which our YAC members helped analyze and code data from online focus groups. The findings have so far been presented in a poster session at Children’s Health Research Day and an oral presentation at Children’s Health Symposium, as well as at EuroGeo Conference 2026 in the Netherlands.
