The Human Environments Analysis Laboratory, Elgin, London, Middlesex, Oxford Active & Safe Routes to School, and Thames Valley District School Board are teaming up to place air quality monitors around elementary & secondary schools across the district. Our goal is to monitor air quality using Purple Air II devices to monitor air quality around schools in order to:
- Collect data that can be used in elementary and secondary science curriculum;
- Encourage parents & students to use active school travel when going to and from school by showing impact of driving; and
- Monitor long term impact of COVID on air quality around schools.
Below are data being collected by two test Purple Air II devices. If you have any questions about this project, please contact the HEAL.
