00:00 – 00:12 (Footstep and ambient sounds; unsettling background music begins) In a first-person perspective, teen walks towards high school washroom and passes 3 students, seen on right. A notification on the top right corner of the screen pops up saying “Normally at my school I see teens vaping likes STLTH’s and just pods …if you go into the washroom … there’s a typical group in there of grade 11 or 12, sometimes 10s last year… there’s normally that one … group in there.”

00:12 – 00: 21 Teen opens the washroom door with left hand (loud heartbeats heard). Teens walks inside washroom. A message sent pops up at the bottom left corner of the screen saying, “dude the entire bathroom is smoked out, I’m not even kidding”. The interior of the washroom is filled with white smoke, and 2 other teens can be seen with vapes in their hands

00:21 – 00: 23 Person looks up to see the faces of the two teens. One teen with her mask down, offers their vape pen to the person. A message sent pops up at the bottom left corner of the screen saying, “there’s like a couple of kids just in here and nobody’s even phased”.

00:23 – 00:36  (Unsettling music slowly intensifies) Teen looks away and shifts perspective to their hands and washes them in the sink. Teen looks up in the mirror and dries  hands. A message sent pops up at the bottom left corner of the screen saying, “it reminds me of when I used to vape (an emoticon is added)”

00:37 – 00:42 (Unsettling music ends, Ethereal background music starts) Scene changes to an empty parking lot. A message sent pops up at the bottom left of the screen saying, “what’s taking you guys so long?”.

00:42 – 00:50 Teen looks up and waves hands to 4 teens holding white plastic bags coming in his direction to greet them from the vape store. A message received pops up at the upper right of the screen saying, “yo we got vapes and they didn’t even ID us lmao”.

00:50 – 00:56  One teens sits down, takes sunglasses off, and takes a beverage from the white plastic bag and gives to the person. A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “no way?”

00:56 – 01: 07 Teen also takes a black vape pen from the bag and gives it to the teen. A notification on the top right corner of the screen pops up saying, “In this day and age you can get them really everywhere. Drugstores, the local-like Kmart … it’s really everywhere. People will bring extra vapes and give them out to their friends. Sometimes during spares, senior students will go out to that park and give each other vape…”  (Strong bass music starts) The teen pulls their mask down and vapes. Teen’s perspective moves upwards

01:08 – 01:14 (Bass music ends) Scene changes to the entrance of a garden seating area.  A notification on the top right corner of the screen pops up saying, “But also, to other people because of how people kind of take that. So, I think that like—what we talked before, about people who want to quit but might not have the resources and things.” Teen walks towards a gate and to a group of people seated on long stone benches having a meeting.

01:15 – 01:21 (Calm rhythmic ethereal music starts playing). A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “I relapsed (sad emoji)”. Teen sees 4 adults on the right and 3 on the left seated and spaced apart. The groups’ leader, wearing a pink shirt and holding a clipboard, motions for the teen to sit

01:22 – 01:26 A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “Everyone at addiction support is so old, I’m so out of place.” Teen walks into the group setting and sits next to 4 people. Teen looks to the left and sees an adult with a white shirt on and then looks to the right and sees an adult with sunglasses and a black top who quickly looks away

01:27 – 01:35 The teens’ perspective moves downward, and their black pants are seen. Teen begins tapping his right foot and puts both hands together and crosses them. A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “I wanna go home (sad emoji).” The teen slowly looks up and around again

01:35 – 01:40 Scene changes to a dark room filled with smoke with a single light source that changes colour. A message received pops up at the upper right of the screen saying, “party at L’s where are you?”  (Strong bass background sound; muted crowd, and party noise) Teen slowly walks towards the room

01:40 – 01:43 A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “I’m literally here just gimme a minute”. A smiling teen with a white shirt on turns back, looks at the teen entering the party and bumps her fist with them. Another teen with eyeglasses and a white shirt does the same

01:44 – 01: 51 A notification on the top right corner of the screen pops up saying, “People that I personally know that vaped had started like in four or five years ago … in like party settings. [Its] like the expectation to – to look like everybody else”. Teen walks slowly to a table with 3 bottles of alcohol and grabs a red cup. The teen looks to the left

01:51 – 02:05  A teen with a black shirt offers a vape to the teen (a heartbeat is heard and intensifies). A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “people keep offering me a hit, what do I do?” Another teen is seen motioning, asking for the vape. Instead, the girl gives it to the teen (heartbeat stops)

02:05 – 02:09  (Ethereal music plays). Scene changes to a room with teen sitting in front of a desk with a laptop and some clutter is seen. A message received pops up at the upper right of the screen saying, “how’s lockdown number 2 treating you?” The teen is typing an essay on his laptop.

02:10 – 02:14 A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen replying, “awful. And I have to write a stupid paper about it.” He continues to type.

02:14 – 02:20 A notification on the top right corner of the screen pops up saying, “I know… friends who… quit it… because they couldn’t like, get someone to give them juice or anything. I [also] know other people that … just got into… way more ’cause they had more time on their hands. So, I think it’s like all up to like the individual person.” He stops typing and leans back.

02:21 – 02:29 The teen looks to the vape on the left on top of a green pad. A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “god I just really need a hit now.” The teen grabs the vape. The teen holds the vape for a few seconds and finally uses it.

02:29 – 02:33 A message sent pops up at the lower left of the screen saying, “I feel awful.” The teen perspective looks up towards the ceiling. The screen cuts to black. (Ethereal music stops)

02:34 – 02:48 (Silence, then a calm low-fi music slowly builds up). Scene changes to a bedroom showing a bed with several school materials on top of a flower decorated blanket.  The back of a laptop can be seen.

02:49 – 02:50 A teen with a striped shirt walks in on the top left corner of the screen

02:51 – 02:53 (Rhythmic muted drums start playing, lofi music continues) Scene changes to a teen in front of the laptop with a view looking at the keyboard. The teen presses the button “return” in the laptop

02:54 – 02:59 The camera slowly pans upwards to the screen, showing an Instagram picture with the words “Teens Talk Vaping” written on the image. Screen transitions to a white slide
