Pronouns: He/Him
Senior Project Coordinator & Research Associate

Human Environments Analysis Laboratory

Senior Project Coordinator & Research Associate

Andrew Clark is a researcher interested in understanding how the individual, social, and built environments influence the ability to live a healthy and active lifestyle. His past work has focused on the determinants of walking for adults in order to understand what encourages and discourages walking. Through the sponsorship of Sport Canada, Andrew has also done research examining the barriers to sport participation of adults in Hamilton, ON. During his time at Western University, Andrew will be examining how a child travels through his or her environment to determine what will increase the amount children walk and bicycle to school. He will also be examining how a child’s accessibility to sport facilities and programs, both real and perceived, influence their participation in sports. These two focuses will provide evidence to better understand how the individual, social, and built environments affect a child’s ability to be active.
