Dr. Louise McEachern is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Geography at Western University.  Her graduate work analyzed data collected from a community-based participatory research initiative among Indigenous communities in Canada called ‘Learning Circles: Healthy Food to School’, and included a sub-analysis of the cross-Canada Cancer Risk in Youth Survey (CRAYS) focused on Indigenous youth.  She has extensive experience with both qualitative techniques and epidemiological data.  Her research interests focus on questions that explore the interactions between food, health, and the environment; she spent a number of years as a secondary school teacher and has a particular interest in adolescent health and nutrition.
