Matthew Young is currently a grade 12 student. He is passionate about being engaged and uplifting his community. Since grade 9, Matthew has volunteered his time to be a part of his school’s student council, announcement, basketball and track and field teams. Within his community, Matthew volunteers his time within various organizations ranging from the London Majors baseball team, and Komoka Kings Hockey Club to Physical Health Education’s National Youth council. With a passion for helping others, Matthew created an eco-friendly Tote Bag Company last year in Junior Achievement, worked for the London Police Service’s Community Support Unit and won a youth innovation prize for his enterprise. He is excited to serve this year’s term as the council’s Community Outreach Coordinator and utilize his passion for engagement.
